A well-established veterinary group in South Manchester is looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its experienced nursing team.
The role is primarily based within a busy multi-disciplinary referral hospital and A&E service, with some support provided across local first opinion practices. This is a varied opportunity for an RVN looking to build on their existing experience, with exposure to a broad range of clinical disciplines and the chance to work alongside experienced Veterinary Surgeons and RVNs.
The successful candidate will be involved in theatre and anaesthesia, inpatient care, emergency and critical care, diagnostic procedures, as well as medical and surgical nursing. There will also be opportunities to develop experience across ward and patient care, making this a varied role with plenty of scope to build clinical skills.
The nursing team is encouraged to get involved beyond day-to-day clinical work, with opportunities to contribute to quality improvement, infection control, clinical governance and the training of student veterinary nurses. CPD is actively encouraged and funded, with support available for those looking to pursue further qualifications or develop particular clinical interests.
This is a full-time position, with flexibility around a 4 or 5-day working week. The rota includes 1 in 6 weekends, with days off in lieu for weekend and bank holiday shifts. Most weekend shifts are during the daytime, although there may occasionally be later shifts required.
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS registered RVN who takes pride in delivering a high standard of patient care. They will be organised, proactive and comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team. A positive attitude, willingness to learn and an interest in supporting and developing others would also be welcomed.
Benefits include:
Funded CPD and support for further qualifications
RCVS registration fees paid
VDS cover
Health Shield cash plan
Enhanced parental leave
Buy and sell holiday scheme
Cycle to work scheme
Generous staff pet discount
Life insurance
One paid volunteering day per year (pro rata)
