We’re working on behalf of a well-established and growing veterinary practice in Hampshire, who are looking to welcome an experienced Deputy Head Nurse to their nursing team.
Location: Hampshire
Salary: £29,000 – £35,000 DOE
Hours: 40 hours per week | 1:4 weekends + rota’d duty nights
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated RVN who enjoys leadership, variety, and supporting high clinical standards. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head Nurse to help drive efficiency, governance, and continuous improvement across clinical operations, while remaining hands-on in practice.
Supporting the Head Nurse in the day-to-day running of the nursing team
Helping to maintain and develop clinical standards, protocols, and best practice
A varied caseload including consulting, inpatient care, and theatre work
Acting as a positive role model and supporting colleagues across the team
Full-time role typically worked across a 4-day week
9-hour shifts, rotating between consulting, inpatient and surgical duties
1-in-4 weekend rota
Duty nights on rotation
Flexible working patterns considered – the practice is open to discussions to find the right balance
A qualified and registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
Confident communicator and strong team player
Keen to support and develop others
Enthusiastic about continuous learning and professional development
Comfortable managing a varied and busy caseload
