A well-established small animal practice in Staffordshire is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and supportive team. Hours: 40 hours per week over 4 days, with 1:3 Saturday mornings and no OOH
The practice has been serving the local community for over 30 years and operates across two modern, recently renovated sites. Facilities are well-equipped to support a high standard of care, including digital X-ray, in-house laboratory equipment, ultrasound, dental radiography, and dedicated surgical theatres.
The role offers a balanced caseload, typically including one day of surgery, one day of consultations and two mixed days, although there is flexibility to tailor this to suit individual preferences. The team prides itself on maintaining excellent clinical standards and holds multiple accreditations, including Cat-Friendly Silver status, RWAF Silver, Dog Friendly status and Investors in the Environment (iiE) Green accreditation.
The team consists of four experienced Veterinary Surgeons and one new graduate, supported by a skilled nursing team (including Schedule 3 trained nurses) and a welcoming front-of-house team. There is a strong emphasis on teamwork, case continuity and building long-term client relationships. The practice also benefits from close links to a wider network, providing access to additional facilities, shared CPD opportunities and support with more complex cases.
They are looking for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in general practice, confident with routine first opinion duties, RCVS registered and having completed Vet GDP. The ideal candidate will enjoy clinical variety, be keen to continue developing their skills, and value working as part of a supportive team committed to delivering high standards of patient and client care.
