Our client is seeking an experienced Exotic Veterinary Surgeon to join their 24-hour RCVS-accredited small animal hospital in Essex.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Vet with an exotic bias who is passionate about clinical excellence and wants to work within a progressive, well-equipped hospital environment. You’ll join a highly skilled multidisciplinary team delivering advanced diagnostics, specialist services, and outstanding patient care.
The hospital is located within easy reach of London, with direct transport links to Southend and Stansted airports, and is also just a short drive from the coast.
The experienced team includes:
14 Veterinary Surgeons, including certificate holders in surgery, exotics, and medicine.
Vets currently undertaking further certificates in surgery, orthopaedics, cardiology, and medicine.
Highly skilled Veterinary Nurses, including Schedule 3 and imaging-trained professionals.
Several nurses with postgraduate certificates.
3 Hydrotherapists.
2 Physiotherapists.
10 Client Care Advisers.
The purpose-built hospital offers advanced facilities, including:
CT scanner.
MRI services.
Hydrotherapy.
Physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
Emergency and critical care.
Orthopaedics.
Ophthalmology.
Laser therapy.
Comprehensive first opinion and outpatient services.
The successful candidate will:
Provide high-quality exotic and small animal veterinary care.
Work within a supportive, collaborative clinical team.
Contribute to the continued development of advanced services.
Deliver excellent patient care while maintaining strong client relationships.
We are seeking a Vet who:
Has experience with exotic species.
Has previous UK veterinary practice experience.
Understands UK veterinary regulations and client care expectations.
Is committed to clinical excellence and continuous development.
4-day working week.
40-hour rota.
1 in 4 weekends.
No regular out-of-hours duties.
Minimal on-call rota (approximately 3–4 times per year).
Part-time applicants considered (must be able to work 1 in 4 weekends).
Salary up to £60,000 FTE, depending on experience.
