    About This Role

    A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly and supportive team in Stoke on a 1-year fixed term contract.

    This is an opportunity to work for a well-established veterinary charity, helping to provide vital veterinary care to pets belonging to people experiencing financial hardship. The role offers the chance to make a genuine difference to both pets and their owners, while working as part of a collaborative and experienced team.

    The caseload is varied, with no two days being the same. The successful Veterinary Surgeon will see a wide range of medical and surgical cases, providing plenty of opportunity to use and develop their clinical skills. They will need to be adaptable and resilient, with the confidence to make sound, evidence-based decisions and create practical treatment plans that take both the pet's welfare and the owner's circumstances into consideration.

    Strong communication skills are important, with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and work positively alongside colleagues. The team has a strong focus on collaboration and shared learning, with a range of clinical interests and experience available to support case discussions and treatment planning.

    The hospital is modern and well equipped, with separate dog and cat kennelling, in-house radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, piped gases and extensive orthopaedic equipment.

    The position is for 30 hours per week and is offered on a 1-year fixed term basis.
