Are you a positive, forward-thinking vet looking for your next step? This could be a great opportunity to join a genuinely supportive and well-equipped practice in the West Midlands, with the chance to step into a senior position and help shape the clinical team.
This is a standalone small animal practice with a strong reputation locally and a varied caseload, seeing mostly cats and dogs with the occasional small furry. The client base is largely insured, allowing for a high standard of care and clinical freedom.
You’ll be working alongside an experienced and close-knit team, including certificate holders and a highly skilled nursing and support team. The practice is well equipped with everything you’d expect plus some great extras including dental x-ray, laparoscopy, endoscopy, TPLO kit, harmonic scalpel and laser therapy equipment. They aim to keep the majority of cases in-house, with access to a nearby referral hospital when needed.
They’re passionate about continuous development and would love to support any specific interests you have – certificates are encouraged and fully funded.
The role offers a great balance of consulting and surgery, with at least one dedicated ops day per week. Consults are 15 minutes as standard, with longer slots where needed, and the diary is well managed with catch-up time and admin built in throughout the day.
The rota is designed with work-life balance in mind. You’ll have a set weekday off each week, a 1 in 3 Saturday rota (consulting only, sole charge), no Sundays, and an early finish on a Friday 1 in 3. Finishing on time is genuinely prioritised.
They’re looking for someone confident with routine surgery and happy to support and guide less experienced vets. With a senior member of the team due to go on maternity leave later this year, this is a great opportunity to step into a leadership role with plenty of support around you.
What’s on offer:
Salary up to £65,000 depending on experience
Flexible working options
Generous CPD allowance with certificates encouraged and funded
Paid memberships
6.6 weeks annual leave from day one
Birthday leave
Enhanced pension contribution
Private healthcare
The practice is based in the West Midlands with great access to both countryside and Birmingham city centre, making it ideal whether you prefer a quieter lifestyle or city living.
