    About This Role

My client is seeking an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to step into a Clinical Director position within their well-established and highly regarded practice in Central Scotland.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident clinician looking to move into a senior leadership role, combining hands-

on veterinary work with the ability to shape the strategic direction of a thriving practice.

My client operates a purpose-built, RCVS-accredited practice known for delivering high standards of patient care within a genuinely supportive and collaborative environment. The team is made up of experienced vets and highly skilled RVNs, all working together to maintain excellent clinical standards and a positive workplace culture.

The practice is well-equipped, offering a modern clinical environment that supports both routine and more advanced procedures. Facilities include multiple consult rooms, dedicated imaging and dental suites with dental radiography, theatres, endoscopy, advanced anaesthetic monitoring and a full in-house laboratory. Visiting specialists in orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery further enhance the clinical offering and there is strong support for developing individual clinical interests or pursuing certificates.

This role would suit a vet who enjoys leading and developing a team, building strong client relationships and maintaining high clinical standards. Alongside clinical responsibilities, the Clinical Director will play a key role in guiding the practice’s future, supporting colleagues and contributing to overall performance and growth.

The working pattern is designed with work-life balance in mind, with structured time off following on-call duties. The rota includes a 1 in 5 out-of-hours commitment, with time off in lieu, supported by 24/7 nursing cover for emergencies and inpatient care. The diary is well managed, with standard 15-minute consults, longer slots for complex cases, protected catch-up time and dedicated emergency appointments built into the day.

    Benefits include:

    • Competitive salary of up to £80,000 depending on experience

    • 6.8 weeks annual leave

    • Paid RCVS and VDS fees

    • Generous and flexible CPD allowance with full support for further qualifications

    • Enhanced family and sick pay

    • Health and wellbeing support

    • Optional private medical insurance

    • Staff discounts

    • Referral bonuses

    • Free onsite parking

    • Cycle to work scheme.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a vet ready to take the next step in their career within a progressive and supportive environment where leadership, development and clinical excellence are all highly valued.
