My client is looking for an experienced Farm Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and supportive team based in the Cornish countryside. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a close-knit, farm-only team, supported by a skilled group of Animal Health Technicians and veterinary technicians.
The role is full time, typically working 8:30am – 5:00pm, with structured time off in lieu for weekends and on-call duties. The on-call rota is well managed, with dedicated out-of-hours support covering approximately half the rota, leaving the remaining shared across the team (around 1:10 for the majority of the year).
You will be involved in all aspects of progressive farm veterinary work, covering a varied caseload including dairy, beef and sheep clients. This provides an excellent opportunity to develop and pursue individual clinical interests. The support of the ATT team ensures TB testing is kept to a minimum, allowing you to focus on more rewarding clinical work and client engagement.
The practice operates from a well-located branch within easy reach of both the Cornish coast and moorland, offering an excellent work-life balance. They pride themselves on maintaining strong client relationships, delivering regular training meetings and being actively involved in both local and national industry initiatives.
My client offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
Salary: Up to £50,000 DOE
6.6 weeks holiday including bank holidays, with option to buy/sell additional days
Generous CPD allowance (£1,750 standard / £2,500 for advanced qualifications)
Professional memberships paid (RCVS plus additional subscriptions)
VDS cover
Health and wellbeing support package, plus retail and lifestyle discounts
Enhanced family leave policies
Discounted veterinary fees
Cycle to Work scheme
Company sick pay (post-probation)
Regular salary reviews
Strong focus on employee wellbeing and career progression
Access to local leisure facilities (post-probation)
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Farm Veterinary Surgeon, confident working independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and enthusiastic approach to farm animal practice. A passion for delivering high standards of clinical care and building strong client relationships is essential.
