Head Veterinary Nurse – Hounslow

We have a purpose-built veterinary surgery and are looking for an experienced Head Veterinary Nurse to build and lead our nursing team from the ground up.
This isn’t about maintaining an established way of working — it’s about creating something better.
You’ll have real influence over clinical standards, nursing protocols, team development and the culture of the practice, with the opportunity to build a nursing service where skills are fully utilised and genuinely valued.
You will:
Lead, support and develop the nursing team
Maintain high standards of clinical and patient care
Oversee nurse clinics, inpatient care, anaesthesia and theatre
Promote the use of Schedule 3 skills
Support recruitment, student nurses and clinical development
Establish nursing protocols and ways of working
Work closely with the wider clinical and management teams
The role
Full-time, 4 x 9-hour days
Average 39-hour week
Evenings and weekends
1 in 4 weekend rotation
Nurse care nights, with accommodation provided when required

About you
You’ll be a qualified RVN with previous senior or leadership experience, confident in developing people, maintaining high clinical standards and making decisions.
Most importantly, you’ll be excited by the opportunity to build something from the beginning.
