    About This Role

My client is an independent small animal practice in Cheshire looking to welcome a Veterinary Surgeon to their friendly and supportive team.

The practice operates across two modern sites, including an RCVS-accredited small animal hospital and a purpose-built branch practice. Both sites are well equipped to provide a high standard of first-opinion care, with facilities including two theatres, a dental suite with dental radiography, in-house IDEXX laboratory equipment, DR x-ray, high-quality ultrasound, video endoscope and laparoscope.

You would be joining an experienced team of eight vets, supported by a fantastic nursing and reception team. The practice includes certificate holders in Anaesthesia, Emergency & Critical Care and Medicine, alongside a visiting diplomate orthopaedic surgeon. They also work closely with visiting specialists in soft tissue surgery, cardiology and diagnostic imaging, allowing the team to manage a wide range of interesting and challenging cases.

The nursing team is highly skilled and plays a key role within the practice, consisting of eight RVNs and two SVNs, led by a DipAVN, with ECC certificate holders within the team.

This is a full-time role working a four-day week, with a 1 in 8 weekend rota (Saturday and Sunday 8am–5pm). You’ll receive two days off in lieu after working a weekend. Out-of-hours is covered by a dedicated provider, although the team shares responsibility for inpatients, which is currently around 1 in 8 nights.

The practice is committed to supporting its team and offers excellent opportunities for development, with postgraduate study encouraged and supported.

The salary on offer is £38,000 – £70,000 depending on experience, alongside a strong benefits package including seven weeks holiday, generous CPD allowance, paid memberships, scheduled admin time, staff pet discounts, pension and a social club, as well as trained mental health first aiders within the team.
