An established and highly respected mixed veterinary practice, is seeking an enthusiastic Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join their experienced and supportive team.
This is a progressive, forward-thinking mixed practice with a strong focus on preventive herd and flock health. The farm client base is loyal, engaged, and largely within a compact 10-mile catchment area, allowing for excellent continuity of care and a manageable working day.
The practice turnover currently sits at 70:30 Large Animal to Small Animal, reflecting the evolving nature of mixed practice and offering genuine scope to grow the small animal side further for those with an interest.
Facilities include all the modern equipment you would expect, including ultrasound, digital X-ray, bull breeding soundness equipment, etc.
Approximately 90% farm animal (very little equine)
10% small animal, mainly on-call, weekends, or when the designated SA vet is off
Scope to increase small animal involvement if desired
True clinical freedom, with encouragement to follow your own clinical interests
Strong emphasis on professional development, with postgraduate qualifications fully supported and funded

You will join a six-vet team, consisting of:
5 Large Animal vets (including job-share arrangements)
1 designated Small Animal vet (no on-call)
The team is supported by a Clinical Director, Practice Manager, two nurses, and a dedicated reception team, creating a collaborative and well-structured working environment.
4-day working week
1 long weekend off in 5 (Friday–Monday inclusive)
2-in-5 out-of-hours rota, with two vets always on call
On-call workload is generally light (excluding peak lambing)
OOH SA emergencies supported by a second vet for anaesthetic monitoring
Likely to reduce to 1-in-5 OOH in the coming year
