An exciting opportunity to join an established Out of Hours team
We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our dedicated Out of Hours team within a busy small animal practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident clinician who enjoys emergency work, is comfortable working independently and wants to develop their skills within a well-equipped practice supported by an experienced daytime clinical team.
The Role
This is a part-time position with a working pattern of:
7 nights on / 14 nights off
Monday–Friday: 8pm–8:15am
Weekends: 6pm–9am
The role provides excellent continuity of care, with dedicated daytime and overnight teams supporting the delivery of 24/7 patient care.
About the Practice
You’ll be joining an established clinical team of experienced Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Nurses, with a broad range of clinical interests spanning medicine, soft tissue surgery and orthopaedics.
The practice is purpose-built to high clinical standards and is equipped with modern diagnostic and surgical facilities, including:
Two dedicated operating theatres
Ultrasound
In-house laboratory
Digital radiography
Full endoscopy facilities
Access to CT
Modern inpatient and emergency facilities

About You
We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who is confident working in an Out of Hours environment and managing emergency cases independently.
You will ideally have:
Previous UK veterinary experience
Confidence working in sole charge
Competence with common emergency surgical procedures
Strong diagnostic and medical skills
Experience managing a varied and challenging caseload
Excellent communication and client care skills
A flexible and adaptable approach
A genuine passion for delivering high standards of patient care
The ability to work effectively as part of a wider clinical team
You’ll be comfortable dealing with clients during what can often be stressful circumstances and will demonstrate empathy, professionalism and excellent customer service.
