    About This Role

    Our client is seeking an experienced Out-of-Hours Veterinary Surgeon to join their dedicated emergency and critical care team at a busy 24-hour veterinary hospital in West Yorkshire.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a confident clinician who enjoys emergency medicine and surgery and is looking for a role that offers genuine work-life balance alongside a varied and rewarding caseload.

    The Role

    • £60,000 annual salary

    • 27-hour per week contract

    • 7 nights on, 14 nights off rota

    • 8:00pm – 8:00am shifts

    • No accommodation provided

    • 30-minute OOH consultations as standard

    You'll be working as part of a dedicated night team consisting of:

    • 1 Night Veterinary Surgeon

    • 1 Night RVN

    • 1 Night VCA

    • Reception support until 10pm

    • Twilight Nurse support until midnight

    About You

    We're looking for an experienced veterinary surgeon with previous OOH or ECC experience.

    As part of an advanced practice, candidates should be confident independently managing:

    • Caesarean sections

    • Pyometra surgery

    • Exploratory laparotomy

    • Enterotomy and enterectomy procedures

    • Addisonian crises

    • Diabetic ketoacidosis

    • Severe pancreatitis cases

    • Emergency and critical care patients

    About the Hospital

    Our client operates a busy RCVS-accredited 24-hour hospital and Emergency Clinic supporting both first opinion and referral-level caseloads.

    The hospital team consists of:

    • 15 Veterinary Surgeons

    • 21 RVNs

    • 9 Student Veterinary Nurses

    • 6 VCAs

    • 12 Administrative Team Members

    • 7 Management Team Members

    Facilities include CT, advanced ultrasound, laparoscopy, endoscopy, dental radiography, digital radiography, transfusion medicine capabilities, dedicated species-specific wards and ISFM Gold Accreditation.
