Our client in the West Yorkshire is seeking an experienced Out of Hours ECC Veterinary Surgeon to join their well-established 24-hour hospital on a 7 nights on / 14 nights off rota.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident ECC vet looking to work within a highly supportive, family-run hospital environment, managing a varied and complex emergency caseload with strong overnight support.
Role Details
• Salary £55,000–£60,000 DOE
• 7 nights on / 14 nights off
• Shifts: 8pm–8am
• Dedicated night team including RVN and VCA support
• Reception cover until late evening
• Twilight nursing support until midnight
• Opportunity to locum elsewhere during time off
The Role
You will be responsible for managing emergency and critical care cases overnight, including medical and surgical emergencies, within a well-equipped hospital setting.
Typical case exposure includes:
• Emergency surgeries including caesareans, pyometras and exploratory laparotomies
• Advanced medical cases such as Addisonian crises, DKA and severe pancreatitis
• Diagnostic procedures including AFAST/TFAST
• Placement of feeding tubes, chest drains and urinary catheters
• Wound management and negative pressure wound therapy
Facilities & Support
The hospital is purpose-built and equipped with advanced diagnostics and surgical facilities including:
• In-house laboratory
• Digital radiography
• Ultrasound
• Endoscopy
• Dental suite and dental radiography
• Orthopaedic equipment
You will be supported by a large, experienced veterinary team, including certificate holders in surgery, medicine, dentistry and endosurgery, alongside a dedicated night nursing team.
