A well-established, purpose-built small animal practice in Central Scotland is looking to welcome an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly, supportive and forward-thinking team. This is an excellent opportunity for a vet who enjoys high clinical standards, collaborative working and is potentially interested in progressing into a senior or leadership role.
This modern, RCVS-accredited practice is exceptionally well equipped and places a strong emphasis on working cases up in-house wherever possible. Facilities include multiple consult rooms, a dedicated imaging suite, dental suite with dental X-ray, two theatres, endoscopy, multiparameter and advanced anaesthetic monitoring equipment, as well as in-house laboratory facilities for bloods, urinalysis and cytology. Visiting specialists support orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery, helping to broaden the clinical scope within the practice.
The team is made up of experienced Veterinary Surgeons supported by a highly skilled and proactive nursing team, ensuring smooth day-to-day running and an excellent standard of patient care. A positive, supportive working environment is actively encouraged, with open communication and shared learning at the heart of the practice culture.
This is a full-time position within a single-site practice, ideal for a confident vet who enjoys building strong relationships with a loyal, long-standing client base. The role offers excellent clinical freedom, with encouragement to pursue areas of interest and further development.
There is scope for progression into a senior or clinical leadership role for a candidate keen to take on management responsibilities.
Key features include:
1:5 out-of-hours rota, with a day off following a weeknight on call and a long weekend after an on-call weekend
Average of 29 hours per week on day shifts once TOIL for OOH is accounted for
Nurses on site 24/7 to assist with emergencies, triage and inpatient care
Strong work–life balance with time back for any rare overtime worked
Three days per week with a 5pm finish
Well-managed diary with 15-minute consultations as standard
Double appointments for complex cases
Reserved same-day emergency slots and protected catch-up time built into the day

Interest in mentoring, leadership or management welcomed (but not essential)
