Our client, a well-established independent veterinary group, is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their friendly and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for an RVN looking to work in a collaborative environment where patient care comes first and nurses are encouraged to develop their skills and interests.
The successful candidate will primarily be based at a small, welcoming clinic on the Sussex coast, working alongside an experienced team of Veterinary Surgeons, Nurses and Receptionists. The wider group operates multiple sites equipped with modern diagnostic and surgical facilities, including digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound, in-house laboratory equipment and advanced patient monitoring systems.
Key responsibilities will include:
Conducting nurse consultations
Assisting Veterinary Surgeons during consultations and surgical procedures
Providing high-quality inpatient care
Managing patient admissions and discharges
Running and processing laboratory samples
Maintaining clinical workspaces and equipment
Supporting and mentoring work experience students
Assisting with the training and development of Student Veterinary Nurses
The ideal candidate will have:
Current RCVS registration as a Registered Veterinary Nurse
Previous experience in small animal clinical practice
Confidence in both medical and surgical nursing
Excellent communication and client care skills
Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
A proactive approach to professional development and teamwork
Full-time: 37 hours per week across 4 days
Alternative 5-day working pattern available
Part-time applicants will also be considered
1 in 3 Saturday mornings
No out-of-hours requirements
Salary of £30,000 - £33,000 depending on experience
4 weeks annual leave plus Bank Holidays
Paid overtime where applicable
