    About This Role

My client is looking for a progressive Clinical Director to lead their established small animal team in Cornwall. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon ready to take the next step into a leadership role within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

They are a long-standing practice with over 65 years of delivering high-quality care to both companion animals and farm species. Operating across multiple well-equipped sites, all with surgical facilities, the practice offers a fantastic coastal and countryside location with strong clinical support and resources.

They work up a wide range of medical and surgical cases in-house, with access to dental radiography, visiting orthopaedic specialists and advanced diagnostic imaging led by a certificate holder. Professional development is actively encouraged, with support for certificates and a generous CPD allowance.

The team is collaborative and sociable, made up of experienced vets, highly skilled nurses, and a strong support team. Regular clinical meetings and social activities contribute to a positive and inclusive working culture.

The role includes participation in a Saturday morning rota (approximately 1 in 6, moving to 1 in 7), with time off in lieu provided. There is no out-of-hours emergency work required; however, inpatient care is retained in-house with overnight nursing support and veterinary backup.

Alongside clinical responsibilities, the Clinical Director will play a key leadership role within the practice.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Leading and supporting a team of Veterinary Surgeons

    • Fostering a positive, progressive team culture

    • Acting as the clinical voice in operational and strategic decisions

    About You:

    • An experienced Veterinary Surgeon with strong clinical skills

    • A confident and approachable leader with a collaborative mindset

    • Excellent communication skills with both clients and colleagues

    • Passionate about delivering high standards of patient care
