RVN – South Manchester - £28,000 to £31,000
Looking for an RVN role where you can broaden your clinical skills, gain exposure to referral and emergency cases and work alongside an experienced nursing team?
This could be an exciting opportunity to join a busy multi-disciplinary veterinary hospital and first-opinion network, where you’ll have the chance to develop across a wide range of clinical areas while being supported by experienced Veterinary Surgeons and RVNs.
Based primarily within the hospital, you’ll gain valuable exposure to referral-level cases, emergency and critical care and a variety of medical and surgical disciplines. You’ll also spend some time supporting the wider first-opinion team, giving you excellent variety throughout your role.
Your day-to-day work could include:
Theatre and anaesthesia
Inpatient care
Emergency and critical care
Diagnostic procedures
Medical and surgical nursing
Ward and patient care
With such a broad clinical environment, this is a great opportunity to build confidence, expand your skill set and explore areas of nursing that particularly interest you.
The nursing team is actively encouraged to develop both clinically and professionally.
CPD is funded and encouraged, with support available for further qualifications and developing individual clinical interests.
Nurses are also encouraged to become involved in areas beyond day-to-day clinical work, including:
Quality improvement
Infection control
Clinical governance
Training and supporting student veterinary nurses
So, if you enjoy taking responsibility, sharing your knowledge and helping improve the way a practice works, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved.
The role offers a good balance between clinical variety and time away from work:
Full-time position
Flexible 4 or 5-day working week considered
1 in 6 weekends
Time off in lieu for weekend and bank holiday shifts
Most weekend shifts are daytime
Occasional later shifts may be required
