Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Veterinary Surgeon to join their independent, vet-owned RCVS accredited small animal hospital in Bridgend, South Wales.
This is a flexible senior role for a Vet who enjoys high-quality first opinion practice, emergency care, mentoring colleagues, and helping less experienced vets build confidence. The role can be tailored around your experience and interests, with options for either a first on-call position or a senior back-up role.
The successful candidate will enjoy:
A varied GP caseload including consulting, inpatient care, and operating.
Supporting and mentoring developing vets.
Contributing to clinical standards, training, and team development.
Providing emergency support and clinical guidance where required.
There are two role pathways available:
First On-Call Senior Vet
5-day working week.
Responsibility for first on-call emergency care.
7 nights on rota followed by 7 days recovery.
Weekend commitments as part of the rota.
Senior Back-Up Vet
4-day working week.
Supporting first on-call vets with more complex cases.
Primarily home-based support when required.
Must live within 30 minutes travelling distance of the hospital.
Salary: £40,000–£65,000 depending on experience and role
4- or 5-day working week options.
Protected breaks and scheduled admin time.
Structured opportunities to mentor and develop others.
Independent, vet-owned practice with its own OOH service.
Supportive senior clinical team.
33 days holiday, with the option to purchase an additional 5 days.
CPD allowance of 5 days and £1,500, with enhanced support available for Advanced Practitioners.
RCVS, VDS, and an additional professional membership paid.
