    About This Role

A well-established tier 3 small animal hospital in Merseyside is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join its supportive, certificate-focused team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a vet looking to work in a highly equipped clinical environment while maintaining a strong work–life balance.

Conveniently located near Liverpool and Manchester, with excellent transport and airport links, the practice also offers easy access to stunning countryside including Wales and the Lake District.

This modern, training hospital is exceptionally well equipped, allowing cases to be worked up to a very high standard in-house. Facilities include:

    • Digital X-ray and ultrasound

    • Dental radiography and multiple endoscopy scopes

    • CO₂ laser and laparoscopic equipment

    • 64-slice CT scanner and 1.5T MRI scanner

The hospital works closely with its in-house referral service, providing excellent clinical backup and development opportunities.

The practice is looking for a confident Veterinary Surgeon with experience in, small animal consulting, routine neutering and minor surgical procedures and sole-charge branch work (approximately 50% of the role), with the option to work branch-only with full hospital support if preferred.

You’ll be supported by a highly experienced veterinary team, including clinicians with certificates in medicine, surgery and diagnostic imaging, alongside others currently studying. Individual progression is actively encouraged.

The role is full time with a 4-day working week available, a shared weekend rota: 1 in 8 full weekends or 2 Saturdays and 1 Sunday in 8 weeks and some out-of-hours cover for holiday and sickness only.
