Are you looking for a veterinary role that offers high-quality clinical work alongside genuine flexibility?
My client is seeking an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and supportive team in Lancashire. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a well-established, RCVS-accredited practice that prides itself on delivering excellent first-opinion care while maintaining a strong focus on team wellbeing and career development.
The role is full-time at 40 hours per week, although part-time applications will be considered. Flexible working patterns are available, and some branch work may be required, including occasional sole charge consulting. The role also includes participation in a weekend-only OOH rota (1 in 8 Fridays and Sundays on call with time off in lieu, plus 1 in 8 Saturdays with a day off in lieu). The practice provides its own out-of-hours service, supported by experienced vets and a dedicated night nurse team, ensuring continuity of care.
My client offers a varied and interesting caseload, supported by excellent facilities including digital x-ray, ultrasound, video endoscopy, two surgical theatres, a dental suite with dental x-ray, an in-house laboratory, and separate canine and feline wards. The practice also benefits from visiting specialists in areas such as ultrasonography and cardiology.
You’ll be joining a large, collaborative team of around 65 colleagues, including certificate holders across multiple disciplines and highly skilled RVNs with additional qualifications. The culture is genuinely supportive, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, professional growth, and creating an enjoyable working environment.
They are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who is confident with routine consultations and surgery, has completed VetGDP, and is keen to continue developing their clinical skills. An interest in surgery or orthopaedics would be particularly welcomed.
In return, my client offers a competitive salary (£45,000 – £65,000 DOE), a generous CPD allowance with paid CPD days, and a comprehensive benefits package including RCVS membership, VDS cover, 6.6 weeks annual leave (pro rata), private medical insurance (optional), a Cycle to Work scheme, corporate gym membership, and volunteer leave.
Wellbeing is a key focus, with Mental Health First Aiders, wellbeing champions, regular team socials and a culture built around support, kindness and work-life balance.
