Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon – Part-Time (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract) Ref:SV0613

Our client is seeking an RCVS-registered Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and experienced team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a vet looking for a varied caseload, flexible working, and a great work-life balance with no out-of-hours or sole charge responsibilities.

Working across two well-equipped small animal sites, including a 24-hour veterinary hospital, you'll enjoy exposure to both routine and emergency cases while being supported by a knowledgeable and collaborative clinical team.

The Role

• 12-month fixed-term contract

• Part-time – 20 hours per week

• Working Wednesday plus either Thursday or Friday

• Shift patterns:

  • 8:00am – 6:30pm

  • 10:00am – 8:30pm

• Flexible working options available, including school hours for the right candidate

• 1 in 6 weekends (paid in addition to salary)

• No out-of-hours

• No sole charge

The role includes consultations and inpatient/ward care, with the opportunity to undertake surgical days if desired. Surgical work is entirely optional, making this an ideal opportunity for both consult-focused vets and those wishing to maintain their surgical skills.

Salary: Up to £32,000 (£64,000 FTE), depending on experience.

• RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon

• Confident with routine consultations and preventative healthcare

• Comfortable performing routine surgical procedures if interested in surgical duties

• Excellent communication and client care skills

• Compassionate and team-oriented

• Specialist interests are welcomed and supported
