    About This Role

    Veterinary Surgeon – Leeds – £50,000 - £65,000

Looking for a veterinary role that gives you more than just another job?

If you’re looking for a practice where your opinion matters, your clinical interests are encouraged and your life outside work is genuinely respected, this could be a great opportunity.

You’ll be joining a family-run, forward-thinking veterinary practice with a genuinely close-knit team, strong clinical expertise and a culture built around supporting its people.

We know being a great vet is only one part of having a great life, that’s why the practice offers genuine flexibility, including:

    • 20–40 hours per week

    • Full-time or part-time considered

    • A regular day off every week

    • 1 in 4 weekends

    • No OOH or on-call

    • A rota planned well in advance, giving you plenty of opportunity to plan your life outside work

    • Flexible working arrangements tailored around your circumstances

The aim is simple: give you a working pattern that works for you, rather than expecting you to fit around the practice.

The team understands that salary isn't the only thing that matters when choosing your next role.

They’re happy to discuss the wider package and consider what’s important to you, whether that’s salary, holidays, working hours, CPD, career development or something else.

    For guidance, salaries are around:

    • £40,000–£50,000 for vets up to five years qualified

    • Up to £65,000 for recent certificate holders taking on additional responsibilities

The overall package can be discussed around your experience, aspirations and lifestyle.

This is a practice that genuinely values your time.

Lunch breaks are protected; consultations finish 45 minutes before closing and dedicated consultation breaks are built into the day. This gives you time to catch up on messages, review results and deal with those inevitable administrative jobs.

    The philosophy is straightforward:

You should be able to finish your working day feeling like you've actually finished.

The team actively wants you to leave on time.

You’ll be surrounded by a highly experienced clinical team, including four partners with more than 85 years of combined veterinary experience, alongside experienced vets, RVNs, SVNs, VCAs, reception and dedicated practice management.

That means plenty of people to learn from, discuss cases with and turn to when you need another perspective.

The culture is collaborative rather than hierarchical. Everyone is encouraged to have an opinion, contribute ideas and enjoy genuine clinical freedom.

If you enjoy working up interesting cases and seeing them through from diagnosis to treatment and follow-up, there’s plenty here to get excited about.

The team includes certificate holders in surgery, cardiology and dermatology, meaning referral is kept to a minimum and vets can retain ownership of their cases.

The practice carries out a broad range of advanced work in-house, including:

    • BOAS surgery

    • Orthopaedics

    • Cardiac work-ups

    • Advanced medical cases

    • Endoscopy

    • Ultrasound

    • Digital radiography

    • Dental radiography

    • AI-assisted cytology

There is also further clinical development within the team, including vets working towards additional qualifications.

The practice has built its reputation around creating a genuinely friendly working environment.

You won't simply be another vet on the rota. You'll have the opportunity to influence how the practice develops, contribute your ideas and build strong relationships with an experienced and supportive team.

If you’re looking for somewhere that feels more like a team than just another workplace — with genuine clinical freedom, excellent support and a work-life balance that is taken seriously — this could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.

We’d love to hear from you
