Veterinary Surgeon
Sittingbourne
Full Time or Part Time | Salary up to £65,000 FTE | No Out-of-Hours
A supportive, people-focused practice where pets and their teams truly matter
We’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly, forward-thinking small animal practice.
This is an opportunity to become part of a team that genuinely values its people, prioritises high standards of clinical care, and believes that kindness, respect and teamwork are just as important as clinical excellence.
Whether you’re looking for a full-time or part-time position, the team is committed to creating a working pattern that supports both your professional ambitions and life outside work.
About the Practice
This well-established practice has built a loyal and growing client base over many years, providing consistently high standards of care in a warm and welcoming environment.
The practice is independently led by veterinary professionals, creating a leadership culture grounded in compassion, honesty and an understanding of the realities of clinical practice.
You’ll join a supportive team including experienced Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, Veterinary Care Assistants and Receptionists. Teamwork, collaboration and continuous learning are central to the practice culture — alongside plenty of good humour and the occasional slice of cake!
The practice is a member of the Practice Standards Scheme and has been recognised for its commitment to excellent client service.
Clinical Facilities
The practice offers a varied clinical caseload and is equipped with:
Digital radiography
In-house laboratory
Ultrasound
Dental radiography
A varied surgical caseload, including orthopaedics
Ongoing investment in clinical facilities and equipment
About the Role
You’ll be involved in a varied small animal caseload, with the opportunity to develop your own clinical interests and areas of expertise.
The practice is keen to support individuals who want to expand their skills, pursue further qualifications or develop particular clinical interests.
The working pattern is flexible, with both full-time and part-time applications welcomed. School-hours working can also be considered where appropriate.
There are no out-of-hours requirements, with a weekend rota of approximately 1 in 3 Saturdays, 9:00am–6:00pm.
About You
We’re looking for a confident, approachable Veterinary Surgeon with at least 2 years’ experience in small animal practice.
You’ll ideally be:
Kind, enthusiastic and compassionate
A confident and effective communicator
Comfortable with routine surgery and medical work-ups
Passionate about delivering high standards of clinical care
Committed to animal welfare
Open to learning and working collaboratively
Calm and adaptable in a busy clinical environment
Keen to develop your own clinical interests and specialisms
Most importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys working as part of a close-knit team and genuinely cares about delivering an excellent experience for both clients and their pets.
What We Offer
As part of the wider Vets for Pets network, you’ll benefit from the stability and resources of an established veterinary brand while working within a supportive, close-knit practice environment.
The package includes:
Salary up to £65,000 FTE, depending on experience
Generous CPD allowance
Funding towards certificates and further qualifications
Contributory pension
Paid RCVS and VDS memberships
Option to purchase additional annual leave
Exclusive colleague discounts and rewards
Support for professional development and career progression
A welcoming team environment — with plenty of tea, coffee and cake!
Why Join?
This is a practice where you’ll be genuinely valued as an individual rather than simply being another member of the rota.
You’ll have a voice within the team, access to support and development, and the freedom to explore your own clinical interests and ambitions.
If you’re looking for a veterinary practice where compassion, humour, teamwork and clinical excellence go hand in hand, this could be an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your career.
