Vet Vacancy on the Western Isles (Outer Hebrides) Scotland Ref:SV0181

A proudly independent, mixed practice are seeking an experienced Vet and a recent graduate (2+ years’ experience preferable) to join their friendly and supportive practice on the Western Isles of Scotland.

• Competitive salary (available upon request)
• OOH equally shared, currently 1 in 5 with a day off in lieu for weekends worked.
• Every second week is a 4-day working week.
• CPD encouraged and funded!
• Central accommodation and vehicle provided.

The current team consist of 5 Vets – 4 full-time, 1 part-time and 2 RVNs, plus 1 SVN. The Practice Owner, and Head Vet within the practice, has been there for 35 years. Delivering fantastic, compassionate veterinary care to patients across the beautiful Isles of Lewis & Harris.

You will be responsible for providing high quality veterinary care to a wide range of animals, ranging from small animals to equine and farm animals, alpacas, and the local wildlife. It is not unusual to see birds of prey, otters, and seals within the practice walls. You really do get the opportunity to work with diverse cases here!

Base in a beautiful part of the world, with good transport links to mainland Scotland and air discount schemes available for island residents. Ther are also regular flights and ferries to the mainland.
