An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join an RSPCA branch in Lancashire from October.
This is a unique opportunity to help establish and shape the future of the branch, working with full clinical autonomy in a rewarding shelter medicine environment.
The role is offered on a 0.6 FTE basis, ideally working Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, although there is flexibility around working days for the right candidate.
You will be working in a sole charge capacity alongside a highly experienced and supportive veterinary nurse, delivering high-quality care to shelter animals and supporting community prevention initiatives.
The practice offers excellent flexibility, with working hours able to be tailored around existing commitments such as school runs or other personal responsibilities.
Importantly, there are no targets or KPIs – the focus is entirely on providing outstanding patient care and making a genuine difference to animal welfare within the local community.
The ideal candidate will have:
A minimum of 3 years' small animal veterinary experience
Confidence working in a sole charge environment
A passion for animal welfare and shelter medicine
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
This is a fantastic opportunity for a vet seeking a meaningful role with flexibility, autonomy and the chance to make a real impact.
