Our client is looking for a vet who is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care, building lasting client relationships, and becoming an integral part of a supportive and experienced team. This is a sole charge position with a manageable and rewarding caseload, ideal for an experienced GP vet or someone ready to take the next step in their career. You'll enjoy a varied day combining consultations, routine surgical procedures, case management, and administrative responsibilities, allowing you to work to a high clinical standard while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
The practice is supported by a dedicated nursing team, including experienced veterinary nurses and trainee nurses who are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and continuous professional development.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality consultations and clinical examinations.
Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical and surgical cases.
Perform routine surgical procedures within your level of competence.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical records.
Prescribe and dispense medications in line with current legislation and professional guidelines.
Refer cases appropriately when advanced care or facilities are required.
Foster a positive, collaborative, and respectful team culture.
Work closely with nursing colleagues to support clinical standards and branch operations.
Oversee consulting and surgical workflows to ensure efficient diary management.
Support & Development
You will be supported by an experienced leadership team, including a Regional Head Vet and Regional Manager, providing both clinical and operational guidance. Access to advanced facilities and specialist support ensures seamless referral pathways for more complex cases, while dedicated out-of-hours services provide continuity of care for patients.
For vets stepping into their first sole charge role, leadership and management training can be provided to help you succeed and grow with confidence.
Working Pattern
4-day week (Monday to Thursday)
Early finish on one weekday
1:4 Saturday morning rota
1:8 Sunday hospital rotation
Up to 2 bank holidays per year
Participation in a rarely used emergency-only on-call rota
