Charity Small Animal Hospitals – East London
Salary: £62,899 – £70,235 (including allowances)

Lacey’s client, a well-established charity veterinary provider with hospitals in East London, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon Team Leader to join and support their collaborative clinical team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior vet who enjoys combining clinical work with leadership responsibilities, while making a genuine difference to pets and owners who rely on accessible veterinary care.
The successful candidate will hold clinical governance responsibility across the hospitals and lead the Veterinary Surgeon team to deliver an efficient, professional and compassionate service to the local community.
This role would particularly suit an experienced vet with a surgically biased caseload who takes a pragmatic, evidence-based approach to clinical decision making.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and supporting the Veterinary Surgeon team
Overseeing clinical governance and maintaining high standards of care
Contributing to recruitment, mentoring and team development
Delivering high-quality medical and surgical care
Communicating clearly with clients and supporting colleagues across the clinical team
The role follows a flexible shift pattern between 8:30am and 8:00pm Monday–Friday, with approximately 1 in 7–8 weekends, for which enhanced pay and time off in lieu is provided.
