About This Role
A friendly, forward-thinking veterinary team in Kent is growing – and they’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Surgeon to join them. This is more than just a job. It’s an opportunity to be part of a team where kindness, respect, and genuinely putting pets and their people first are at the heart of everything they do.
Well-established in the local community for over eight years, this small animal practice has built a loyal and growing client base. Known for delivering high standards of care in a warm, welcoming environment, clients often say the team feels more like family than a clinic.
Led by a vet and a veterinary nurse, the leadership team understands the real-life challenges of clinical work. Their approach is rooted in compassion, honesty, and a deep respect for their people – values reflected in the supportive and collaborative culture they’ve created.
The practice is a proud member of the Practice Standards Scheme, holds a Good Client Service Award, and is committed to creating an inclusive, supportive environment for both clients and colleagues.
The current team includes three experienced vets, five fantastic RVNs, a VCA, and four friendly receptionists – all dedicated to teamwork, continuous learning, and supporting one another (often over coffee and cake!).
Facilities include:
• Digital x-ray (which also doubles as a peaceful, homely euthanasia room when needed)
• In-house laboratory
• Ultrasound
• Dental x-ray (coming soon)
• A varied surgical caseload, including orthopaedics
The ideal candidate will be a confident and approachable vet with at least two years’ experience in small animal practice. They will be:
• Kind, enthusiastic, and an excellent communicator
• Competent in routine surgery and medical work-ups
• Open to collaboration and ongoing development
• Passionate about animal welfare and clinical excellence
• Calm and adaptable, even in a busy environment
Flexibility is genuinely valued, and the team is happy to accommodate full-time or part-time rotas, including school hours. Plus, there are no out-of-hours requirements!
Further benefits include:
• Salary up to £65,000 FTE (commensurate with experience)
• Generous CPD allowance, with support for certificate funding
• Contributory pension
• Paid RCVS and VDS memberships
• Option to buy extra holiday
• Exclusive colleague discounts and rewards
• Unlimited tea, coffee, and cake – shared with a supportive and friendly team
This is a team that truly values every member. You’ll have a voice, space to grow your clinical interests, and the support needed to develop in your career – all within a warm, independent-feeling practice backed by the resources of a larger network.
